QwikScrap vs Local Kabadiwala
| Comparison point | QwikScrap | Local Kabadiwala |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Live, published rates you can check before you even book. | Quoted in person, based on the buyer's own assessment. |
| Payment | Cash or instant UPI, paid the moment you approve the final amount. | Usually cash, settled once the deal is agreed. |
| Documentation | A digital receipt with weight, rate, and payment mode, saved to your profile. | Typically an informal, in-person transaction. |
| Data safety (e-waste) | You wipe your own device beforehand; it's then routed to certified recyclers. | Handling after pickup varies by buyer. |
| Convenience | Book online, pick a slot, and a verified agent comes to you. | Wait for one to pass by, or call around to find one available today. |
Why an online kabadiwala makes sense
A local kabadiwala isn't going away, and for a quick, small sale, walking up to one is still perfectly reasonable. What an online kabadiwala changes is the parts of the process you couldn't previously verify - the rate you're quoted before anyone shows up, the weight on the scale, and whether you have any record of the transaction afterwards. QwikScrap doesn't ask you to trust an unfamiliar number at the door; you see the rate first, watch the weighing, and get a receipt at the end.
